Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-10-29
What the service is
xLyra Cloud is the account and plugin-market service of the xLyra project, maintained by its author, Yachiyo. The xLyra software is open source under the AGPL-3.0.
Cloud is used to sign in, bind an xLyra instance you run, publish plugins as a developer, and list a plugin in the market catalog after it passes review.
The xLyra program can run on its own. If Cloud is unavailable, that program still runs. An instance that has not been bound does not send any data to Cloud. Browsing the plugin market and installing from it are anonymous reads of static files, and do not require an account.
How Cloud handles data is described in the Privacy Policy.
Accepting these terms
Using Cloud means you agree to these terms.
Accounts
You can sign in with GitHub, or with an email verification code. An administrator may enable two-factor authentication (TOTP) on an account.
You are responsible for the security of your account.
Data related to accounts is described in the Privacy Policy.
Binding an instance
Before an instance is bound, you confirm the pairing. After it is bound, the instance periodically reports its version and the install state of its plugins to Cloud. This reporting cannot be turned off. It stops when the instance is unbound. You can unbind an instance in the Console at any time.
What a report includes, and what it leaves out, is described in the Privacy Policy.
Developers and publishing plugins
Publishing a plugin requires you to apply for developer status and to be approved by an administrator. After approval, you register a signing public key and a namespace.
A plugin you submit goes through automatic checks and human review. Review considers only technical and security matters. It does not assess upstream terms, and it does not promise how long review will take.
You are responsible for the legality of what you submit and for your right to submit it. Do not submit malicious code, do not steal data with what you submit, and do not bypass permission declarations.
Cloud may:
- Unpublish a version or a plugin
- Revoke a version or a developer public key
- Withdraw developer status
Unpublishing affects only later installs and updates. Revocation can make an instance that already has that version stop using it.
Conduct that is not allowed
Do not attack the service, abuse the API in bulk, impersonate others, bypass rate limits, or similar conduct.
The service as provided, and liability
Cloud is provided as is. Continued availability is not guaranteed.
To the extent applicable law allows, the xLyra project is not liable for loss that comes from using Cloud or from Cloud being unavailable. These terms do not set aside liability that applicable law does not allow to be set aside.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The new text is published on this page. The date at the top of the page is the date of the last update. If you continue to use Cloud after that date, you accept the updated terms.
